I believe the PC way to describe it's looks is "it has character".... lol. Anyways, we bought the WRX sportwagon for my wife. There is quite a bit of lag below 3k rpm, but after that it pulls hard. It has a lot to do with the 3 catalytic converters. Once you remove those, the turbo spools up much better. The only gripes I have about it are that sometimes it's difficult to get into reverse... have to double clutch, no seek button on the radio, feels kinda cheaply made (but that's just in comparison to the Z... hehe), and on the sedan, there's only a pass through (no fold down rear seats... which is why we got the wagon instead). Otherwise, you just can't beat 4 wd turbocharged power. Plus, the EJ20 engine has been around forever, so it's tried and proven and there are a ton of performance parts out there to be had.
